Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED has revealed that players are able to experience the game in full GTA mode – that is, going about your business causing all sorts of mayhem along the way – but it isn’t completely recommended.
Cyberpunk 2077 On ‘GTA Mode’
With no morality system present in Cyberpunk 2077, players are free to go on the rampage as much as they like. However, CDPR’s Max Pears said that players will be more reticent about doing so as they start to pluck away at the story missions, instead looking at other options.
Here’s what he had to say during a chat with PCGamesN:
If you want to go out on a rampage and have no remorse, then you have got the option, and that’s fine with us. However, once you start to play the missions and see the amount of options you have, I think that will make players stop and think a little bit before doing something reckless.
We’ve seen a lot of people default to that ‘GTA mode’ and then after a little bit they realise how many things are different and adjust how they play.
Cyberpunk 2077 is pencilled in for release on November 19, having recently been delayed from September, and before that, May. Watch the latest Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay in action here.
