Dark Souls 3 was released back in April 2016 and is noted for becoming Bandai Namco America’s fastest-selling videogame, and went on to sell over three million copies in just two months.

The game is a continuation of the popular ‘Souls’ franchise which began with the 2009 cult classic Demon’s Souls for PS3. While not a direct follow-up, 2011’s Dark Souls is seen as a spiritual successor to that game, and broke into mainstream success with the 2014 sequel.

In addition to Dark Souls, creator Hidetaka Miyazaki also developed the PS4-exclusive Bloodborne, which shares many similarities with the Souls series. Read up on more Souls-related shockers below.
