Bandai Namco Games has staple-gunned a March 28, 2017 release date to Dark Souls 3’s final DLC drop, The Ringed City.
This final update for the critically acclaimed dungeon crawler sees gamers pursuing the Slave Knight Gael to the ends of the earth in his quest for the Dark Soul of Humanity. Players will make their way into the fabled Ringed City and slug it out with ancient beasts and meet with a new cast of characters, whose minds are teetering precariously on the edge of insanity, and get to grips with new weapons, armor, and magic.
If that wasn’t enough, those of you who have yet to sample of the gothic delights of Dark Souls 3 can look forward to snapping up the Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition (aka Game of the Year Edition), which features the base game and accompanying DLC packs, Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City. The Fire Fades Edition will ship for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on April 21, 2017.

Dark Souls 3 was released back in spring 2016 and picked up rave reviews from critics, although sadly for fans it’s going to be the final installment in the series, at least for quite some time, as its creators move onto craft fresh gaming experiences. The spiritual successor to the cult hit Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls launched back in 2011 for PS3 and Xbox 360, before spawning a follow-up three years later that catapulted the franchise to mainstream success. Dark Souls 2 also made the transition to PS4 and Xbox One in the shape of Scholar of the First Sin Edition. In addition to the Dark Souls series, creator From Software also dabbled in the new PS4-exclusive Bloodborne, which shares many similarities with its creature-dismembering cousins.
The Dark Souls franchise has shipped over 13 million copies worldwide to date.
