David Hayter takes a swipe at Metal Gear Solid developers on Twitter

The voice actor behind Solid Snake and Big Boss from the Metal Gear Solid franchise has seemingly taken a sarcastic swipe at the game’s creators on Twitter.

Taking to the social media website, David Hayter posted the following image alongside the caption, "Wow. Turns out I CAN do Facial Capture! #Huh"

While this could mean nothing, it seems likely Hayter is referring to the fact creator Hideo Kojima spoke about how he wanted Big Boss in The Phantom Pain to be brought to life by facial motions and tone, as opposed to just his voice.

Kojima-san would ultimately replace Hayter in Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain with Kiefer Sutherland, much to the disappointment of Metal Gear fans. Despite this, rumors persist that Hayter will make an appearance in The Phantom Pain in some capacity.

Yesterday we reported that Quinton Flynn, who voiced Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2 and 4, revealed that he supported Hayter’s return to the series by signing a petition and even penning a letter of support for the actor.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on September 1, 2015.
