Days Gone, the next big AAA open world game from Sony Bend, is on its way to the PS4 from the studio that brought us the Syphon Filter games and the PS Vita launch title Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
At the Sony press conference at E3 2017 yesterday, Sony showcased a brand new Days Gone gameplay demo which featured a lot more open world gameplay than we’ve seen before.
The developer has now released an alternate demo showing the protagonist Deacon taking an alternate path to complete his original mission. Thanks to the game’s dynamic weather system and a day-night cycle, the whole sequence was played out under snowy conditions.
Cold weather attracts the infected beings called freakers, thus the player needs to tread with caution. Also the developer touched upon the unpredictable nature of the game, where Deacon might not be able to always have a smooth ride down the road without being knocked off. Days Gone is also capable of having over 300 enemies on screen as seen in the E3 2017 demo.
The alternate demo footage can be seen in the video below at the 2:00 mark.
Days Gone is scheduled for a 2018 release for PS4. The PS4 Pro version will get a resolution boost to 4K.
