Jason Blum has issued a brief update on the Dead By Daylight movie, stating that the team are working on as script but right now it’s impossible to say how long it’ll take to develop
Speaking with Comic Book about an update on the movie adaptation of the popular multiplayer horror title, Blum drew comparisons with the Five Nights at Freddy’s film, which he noted took 10 years to make.
Working on the script. You know, we don’t put movies in the calendar until we have the right script. It took 10 years to make Five Nights at Freddy’s, and I think one of the reasons the movie worked is because we spent 10 years trying to get it right. I hope we get a script that we love. We’re working on a script, but it could be five years, it could be 12 months. You just don’t know. You can’t make the movie until the script is right, and you don’t know how long that’ll take.

Dead By Daylight was released in 2017 and has received a steady stream of support from Behaviour Interactive ever since, with themed events (it’s currently Halloween season for the game) and new playable survivors and killers, many of which are plucked from major horror films and video games.
