Dead Island Definitive Edition is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to a listing on a South African retailer.
While a re-release of the Techland zombie actioner has yet to be confirmed, Loot.co.za (via drmgamecast) seems to think it’s on the horizon, listing the game for release on November 13 on Sony and Microsoft’s current-generation consoles.
Dead Island was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2011, and was met with mixed reviews from critics, with many outlets criticizing the game’s copious amount of bugs and glitches. The game also generated a lot of controversy for its teaser trailer, which didn’t accurately reflect the in-game action.
A follow-up, Dead Island: Riptide, was released in 2013 to a chilly reception, while a full sequel was in development at Yager until earlier this month, when publisher Deep Silver confirmed it had parted ways with the studio.
Oh, and the less said about the awful Escape: Dead Island, the better.
