Upcoming zombie actioner Dead Island: Riptide will be a full-on fresh experience and not a remake of the original, publisher Deep Silver has said.
The confirmation comes following concerns as to whether or not the title would be a new game or something similar to Dead Rising 2: Off the Record.
However, Aubrey Norris, Manager of Marketing and Public Relations at Deep Silver, commented: “It is a new game. Not a remake.”
Norris also touched on the $49.99 pre-order price tag spotted on various retailers, explaining: “it’s the end of a console cycle – we think this price makes a lot more sense given that.”
Expect more information on Dead Island: Riptide to drop later this summer.
