Zombies have become ubiquitous in the videogame scene over the past four or five years, with Dead Island: Riptide the latest title to feature the rotting, shambling undead. The follow-up to the original Dead Island released in 2011, Riptide sees the survivors battling zombies after being shipwrecked on the Island of Palanai. But is it any good?
Dead Island attracted some decent reviews despite initial disappointment after the game failed to live up to its impressive trailer; Riptide, however, seems to have fallen short of its predecessor’s praise.
As you can see below, things have been pretty mixed for Techland’s outing, though it’s worth pointing that some of the more negative comments appear to pertain to the Xbox 360 release, not PS3. PSU actually ranks among the most positive reviews the game has got, as you can see below.
