Looks like the Sony censorship of Japanese games in Japan has extended to the launch of Dead or Alive 3 Xtreme Scarlet.
The series, which has become renowned for its realistic boob physics looks like it will have some features omitted for the PS4 version, while the Nintendo Switch version will remain uncensored.
According to the listing of differences between the Switch and PS4 versions of Dead or Alive 3 Xtreme Scarlet, the latter will omit the Gold fan, the Black fan and the Softening Gel. These items allow players to interact with the female characters on demand, such as using the fan to blow up character’s skirts.
The stricter rules for content in Japanese games on PlayStation platforms is rumoured to have come into effect following Sony HQ’s move from Japan to California. This has also seen restrictions placed on games from Japanese developer, Idea Factory and others.
Some of the characters available in Dead or Alive 3 Xtreme Scarlet have also been confirmed and include:
- Misaki
- Marie Rose
- Honoka
- Kasumi
- Ayane
- Kokoro
- Nyotengu
- Hitomi
- Momiji
- Helena
The game is set to launch in Japan on March 2019.
