Dead Rising’s movie sequel has a release date, but where’s Frank West?

Streaming service Crackle has announced a release date for Dead Rising: Endgame, the sequel to last year’s Dead Rising: Watchtower based on Capcom’s multi-million selling zombie franchise.

The undead action flick will be available to stream via Crackle on June 20, and features Billy Zane, Jesse Metcalfe, Patrick Sabongui, Marie Avgeropoulos and Ian Tracey. Endgame was filmed in Vancouver, Canada, and you can see an image of the main cast below.

Dead Rising Endgame features a script penned by Michael Ferris (Terminator Salvation) and Tim Carter (Mortal Kombat Legacy), and is helmed by director Pat Williams. See below for a synopsis on the movie’s plot.

"Dead Rising: Endgame drops us into the zombie-infested quarantined zone of East Mission City where investigative reporter Chase Carter must stop a secret government conspiracy which, though seemingly aimed at ending the country’s zombie epidemic, will also kill millions of innocent civilians."

The original Dead Rising film starred Rob Riggle as Frank West, the photojournalist who appeared in the original 2006 video game. However, it looks like Riggle won’t be returning for the sequel.

Dead Rising was released as an Xbox 360-exclusive although its 2010 sequel was also made available for PlayStation 3. Dead Rising 3 followed for the Xbox One in 2013, although that has remained a console exclusive to Microsoft’s system.

Capcom has yet to confirm its future plans for Dead Rising.
