If you are feeling antsy about the sequels to Dead Space and Crysis, you may only have about one year to wait. According to EA’s John Riccitiello, both games are expected to be released within the 2011 fiscal year, meaning we could get our hands on these games before March 31, 2011. That may feel like a long wait, but we hope that means the development teams will have plenty of time to put out high quality titles.
We can expect developers Visceral Games and Crytek, for Dead Space 2 and Crysis 2 respectively, to improve upon the success of the first games. Both games will be released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Crysis is considered to be one of the most taxing games on PC hardware, but we can expect the PS3’s power to handle the sequel quite well.
Riccitiello also believes that releasing FIFA in a World Cup year will be great for EA. Sports fans should also look forward to “an innovative and new take on Madden.”
