Electronic Arts head honcho John Riccitiello has confirmed that Dead Space 2’s online multiplayer is still very much on the cards, and revealed that the feature contains some “really innovative” gameplay elements.
Chatting with IndustryGamers, Riccitiello commented, “It’s got some really innovative online gameplay," adding, "I’m personally a nut about Dead Space. Rare is it for me to finish a game on more than one platform, but I did in the case of Dead Space, and Dead Space 2 is more than a worthy sequel; it’s going to be a monster. So I’m really, really pleased with that."
With E3 just around the corner and Dead Space 2 due to show its face at the Los Angeles-based event, expect to hear more on the sequel’s eagerly anticipated online component some time next week.
Dead Space 2 is due out in early 2011.
