Square Enix has debuted brand new footage of Final Fantasy VII Revelation during Sony’s latest State of Play event, offering a brand new look at the sequel in action following the WEAPONS-focussed GamesCom trailer last month. We’ve also got an official release date: April 8, 2027!

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the concluding chapter in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, and launches for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. The game kicks off following the events of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and sees Cloud and his companions continuing their hunt for Sephiroth, and the looming threat of meteor, which threatens to destroy the entire planet. Joining them on this new adventure is Cid and Vincent, who are upgraded to full party members.
Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has been giving a lot of interviews recently to the press, which has revealed some interesting details on the project. For starters, he stated that any possible DLC for Final Fantasy VII Revelation will likely focus on ‘untold stories’ of its characters, as the story will be concluded in the main game. Meanwhile, Hamaguchi-san confirmed that the game’s job system, known as FITS, will see characters limited to four jobs each.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is out on April 8, 2027.
