Deep Silver hints that we haven’t seen the last of Dead Island

The Dead Island franchise is likely to continue beyond the free-to-play PC offering, Dead Island: Epidemic, publisher Deep Silver has revealed.

Speaking during a Reddit AMA, Guido Eickmeyer, creative director at Deep Silver, commented, “I would not expect the series to stop at this point.”

A full-fledged third Dead Island has not been announced, though Eickmeyer indicated something might be in the pipeline:

“I can only ask you to wait a bit further, then some really nice things will be revealed about the future of Dead Island,” he said.

The developer behind the Dead Island series, Techland, is currently working on its next project titled Hellraid.

Dead Island was originally announced in 2007, before finally seeing a worldwide release in 2011 for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360. The open-world zombie actioner went on to shift five million copies, and was followed by a sequel, Dead Island: Riptide, earlier this year.
