Guillermo del Toro’s lavish sounding sandbox romp Insane won’t be ready for another two or three years, the acclaimed director has revealed.
Speaking to MTV (via CVG), Del Toro revealed that Volition has been working on Insane for roughly a year now, and teased that gamers can expect something ‘unique’ as far as enemies go.
"We’ve been working for a year. We have two or three more years to go. It’s huge," he commented.
"I’m learning a lot. I’m going in with a really, really modest ‘I’m learning’ approach. I’m a huge gamer but going into constructing it, you have to be respectful of the medium. We’ve been designing the creatures, which are obscenely fun and unique. You haven’t seen them ever."
"We had to build a sandbox, so we designed all the architecture already," added Del Toro. "It’s Lovecraftian, it’s really weird, but it’s Lovecraftian in a very sick way, which I like.”
Insane will be released for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
