New Destiny 2 easter egg found, and guess who’s back?

While Destiny 2 has only been available since Tuesday, it hasn’t stopped fans from scrutinizing every corner of its sumptuous galaxy with a fine tooth comb, uncovering numerous secrets and easter eggs tucked away by developer Bungie.

One such easter egg has been found by YouTuber Kyomei Hadur, and it’s a fantastic throwback to a certain ‘character’ from the original Destiny – yep, it’s Randal the Vandal.

For those unaware, this enemy, who rose to almost celebrity-like proportions among fans of the 2014 shared-world shooter, is a Fallen Reaver Vandal who spawned with significantly higher stats in comparison to other foes in the same area.

The Reaver’s notoriety quickly earned him the colloquial tag of Randal the Vandal among gamers, and it seems that Bungie has decided to honor the enemy with the sequel, with a high-powered Vandal cropping up in the European Dead Zone’s Sunken Isles area.

Randal the Vandal spawned in the same place on two different occasions, and he’s just as tough as he was in the original game, right down to the yellow health bar to differentiate him from bog-standard foes.

This isn’t the first time that Bungie has acknowledged the legendary foe either. The developer included a Randal the Vandal easter egg in the Wrath of the Machine Destiny Raid, much to the delight of fans, so it’s unsurprising to see them honor the character a second time around.
