Destiny2Official.jpg

Destiny 2 is finally here, Guardians. However, as with any major title, the shared-world shooter is experiencing a few teething problems following launch, with early adopters reporting on a number of error codes.

See below for our guide on Destiny 2 error codes, including possible fixes, as Bungie continually updates its website with information on how to deal with them.

Cabbage error code

Bungie is currently investigating the causes of this error, although according to posts on the developer’s forums, it appears to be effecting who use technicolor modems.

ce-34878-0 error code on PS4

PS4 Pro owners are reporting this particular error code, although Bungie has worked out a solution as detailed below.

-Close Destiny 2, install the latest System Software and game updates and reboot your console

-Those of you who have upgraded your HDD are advised to re-install the original HDD

-If the error repeats itself, back up your saved data, then head to Settings > Initialisation > Initialise PS4

-Contact PlayStation Support if all else fails

Nightingale

This error code stems from those who won a physical copy of the game, and after logging in, displays the Nightingale error when ‘searching for updates.’ Bungie has posted the following as a solution:

Start by powering off your console and clearing the cache (instructions in link below). If that doesn’t work, try reinstalling Destiny 2 to your console.

Server Queues

These issues are largely attributed to the fact Destiny 2 has only just launched and will therefore be subject to a lot of traffic. As such, server queues have been implemented to ensure stability. Bungie has provided the following details on the matter:

  • If a player loses connection or is removed from the queue, their placement will not be retained
  • If a player reaches the front of this queue and is unable to connect to Destiny servers, they will have to re-enter the queue to try again
  • Queue times may vary, depending on server traffic and concurrent population
