Destiny 2: How to unlock the Mida Multi-Tool exotic Scout Rifle

In many ways, Destiny 2 is a fresh start. Your gear, including weapons, armor, and other goodies, does not transfer over to the sequel, and Bungie has packed its science-fiction shooter with a wealth of new items to get to grips with, including all manner of fresh Legendary and Exotic firearms.

However, that’s not to say there’s no returning favorites on the cards. One of the best weapons from the original Destiny, Mida Multi-Tool, is making a comeback for Destiny 2, and we’ve got the lowdown on how to unlock the fan-favorite Scout Rifle. 

Not only that, but there’s also a submachine-gun variation of the weapon up for grabs, known as the Mida Mini-Tool. Follow our guide on how to acquire both firearms below!

Destiny 2: Mida Multi-Tool guide

  • Step 1: First and foremost, you’ll need to spend a fair amount of time playing Destiny 2, since you’ll have to not only reach level 20, but also complete the main campaign before having a chance of unlocking the Mida Multi-Tool. 
  • Step 2: Obtain the quest line ‘Enhance!’ from Devrim Kay. It’s recommended you have a power level of 260, so you may need to get your grind on first before tackling it. Once you follow and complete the quest, return to Devrim, who will reward you with the Mida Mini-Tool.
  • Step 3: Head to the Tower afterwards, and visit your old gunsmith buddy, Banshee-44. He’ll give you the quest titled ‘Sight, Shoot, Repeat,’ which requires Precision kills and Multi-kills with Scout Rifles without reloading your weapon. Head to the European Dead Zone’s Sludge area to accomplish this.

  • Step 4: Here, you’ll face off against groups of three enemies of the Cabal variety. This is your best chance of raking in the required number of kills for the mission, so get a steady hand and land those headshot in rapid succession and you’ll complete your objective soon enough.
  • Step 5: Revisit Banshee-44 at the Tower and pick up another quest, this one requiring you to dismantle five Rare Engrams/Legendary Scout Rifles. In addition, it also tasks you with netting 50 airborne submachine-gun kills in any game mode. The Mida Mini-Tool comes in handy for the latter. 
  • Step 6: Once you’ve accomplished all of the above, speak to Banshee-44 and claim your reward: The Mida Multi-Tool! Congratulations, Guardian!
