Destiny 2 max level cap rumor

The Destiny 2 max level cap will reportedly match that of the original 2014 shared-world shooter at launch.

According to the sequel’s dedicated Reddit page, Destiny 2 will apply a level cap of 20 for its vanilla build, which matches its predecessor.

However, given that the sequel separates level and light, Bungie is applying a cap of 200 for the light level, as seen in the beta.

The original Destiny had its level cap raised frequently via multiple expansions, so you can expect something similar to happen with the latest addition to the franchise.

Bungie has already confirmed that it has an extensive DLC lineup for Destiny 2, pledging that it won’t suffer from the same content draughts as its predecessor.

We’ve already heard whispers of the first expansion for the upcoming alien shooter, which is rumored to focus on the Vex and the character of Osiris.

Destiny 2 will ship on September 6, 2017 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC version following on October 24. The game takes place following the events of Rise of Iron, and sees the Guardians on the retreat after the Tower is attacked by a deadly Cabal unit known as the Red Legion.
