The Destiny 2 release date is mere days away, and we’ve now caught wind that the highly anticipated sequel will launch with a total of six Strikes, one of which is exclusive to the PlayStation 4 version of the game.
According to recent leak (via GameRant), Bungie’s upcoming shared-world shooter will include the following Strikes at launch. Coincidentally, this is also the same number of Strikes that Destiny shipped with back in 2014.
- The Pyramidion
- The Inverted Spire
- Exodus Crash
- The Arms Dealer
- Savathûn’s Song
- Lake of Shadows (PS4 exclusive)
The Inverted Spire should be instantly familiar to anyone who dabbled in this summer’s Destiny 2 beta. Of course, we expect that Bungie will implement new Strikes over time via downloadable content, with the first Destiny 2 DLC rumored to be titled The Curse of Osiris and will supposedly launch this winter.
Meanwhile, Bungie has confirmed its rollout plans for the Destiny 2 Raid and other features, many of which won’t be launching alongside the game.
In addition, the official strategy guide has leaked details on Bungie’s plans for Xur, Agent of the Nine, who has received something of a shakeup this time around in terms of location and what currency he accepts.
Destiny 2 is due to ship for PS4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2017, with a PC version rolling out on October 24. The game takes place following the events of Rise of Iron, and sees the Guardians on the retreat after the Tower is attacked by a deadly Cabal unit known as the Red Legion.
