The developer behind Destiny has revealed it will distribute 320 light Ghosts to any player who has competed in seven matches of the Valentine’s Day-themed Crimon Days PvP game mode.
Bungie confirmed the move as a means of apology for the notoriously dodgy drop-rate witnessed by players in Crimson Days over the weekend period.
“Feedback has been unmistakable: the drop rate has been pretty low,” Bungie commented. “We agree. We took a look at the data, and the number of Ghosts awarded has not been what we expected.”
Here’s what criteria you have to meet in order to receive the free goods:
- After the event is over, we’ll deliver Ghosts to the Postmaster
- Anyone who has competed in seven matches will receive one
- You had to actually compete though – no suicide pacts!
- Your Ghost will be Chocolate or Crimson – the odds are even
- 320 Light will be guaranteed – the odds are totally in your favor
- Packages will be addressed by account, not character
- Qualifying players will receive their Ghost by February 23rd
Activision confirmed during its earnings call last week that the shared-world shooter will receive a brand new expansion in 2016, with the full-fledged sequel, Destiny 2, arriving at some point next year. The game was reportedly due to arrive in fall 2016 before being pushed back.
Destiny was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in September 2014. The game has received three expansion packs to date: The Dark Below, House of Wolves, and The Taken King, though recently Bungie has been keeping players entertained with various timed-based events.
Previous events include the Sparrow Racing League and the Festival of the Lost.
