Bungie has reached out to Destiny gamers in an effort to find out if they’re still enjoying the studio’s polarizing shared-world shooter.
Interest in Destiny has waned somewhat in recent months, primarily due to a lack of major expansions and underwhelming community events. The fact Bungie has already gone on record to say that it will be eschewing traditional DLC in favour of events like the Sparrow Racing League probably hasn’t help matters, either.
However, it seems the former Halo developer is acutely aware of this, hence why it’s aiming to find out just what the general consensus is among its fans. Fans of the game received the following email below, which allows fans to gauge their interest and post a few comments back to the developer.
Destiny was released in September 2014 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 platforms. The game takes place in an online environment where gamers battle against alien forces across Mars, the Moon, Earth, and more, undertaking campaign missions or squaring up in the PvP arena known as the Crucible.
Despite a rocky start, the game quickly gained momentum with a series of popular expansions, including The Dark Below, House of Wolves, and The Taken King. Bungie has said that it will roll out a major update for Destiny this spring, which is said to be the most significant update to the game since The Taken King.
In the meantime, the Valentine’s Day-themed Crimson Days event will be made available from February 9-16. Check out the latest weekly reset details in our earlier post. As for Destiny 2, Bungie has yet to officially comment on a possible sequel, but the latest reports suggest it has been delayed.
