Bungie has announced that gamers who pre-order Destiny: Rise of Iron for PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Store will receive a new Sparrow known as the Iron Gjallarwing.
As you might have guessed by the Gjallar branding, the vehicle is aesthetically similar to Destiny’s infamous Gjallarhorn, a super-powerful rocket launcher that is also getting a makeover for the upcoming expansion pack.
While the regular gold and white shading version of the sparrow will be available via the Eververse Trading Company, those of you who want the special ‘Iron’ branding must first pre-order Rise of Iron as mentioned previously.
Destiny: Rise of Iron will be available for PS4 and Xbox One on September 20. Starting in August, Bungie will be offering reduced support for last-generation versions of the shared-world shooter, hence the reason the new content isn’t available for PS3 and Xbox 360 users.
Destiny was originally released back in September 2014 for current and last-gen consoles, and has been supported by three major expansions to date: The Dark Below, House of Wolves, and The Taken King.
In recent months, Bungie has supported the fan base with a series of time-based events, such as the Halloween-themed Festival of the Lost and Valentine’s Day’s Crimson Days. April’s game update also brought many new additions, such as a revamped Prison of Elders.
Activision confirmed earlier this year that Destiny 2 is currently in development and will be released in 2017.
