Bungie has officially announced the long-rumored Rise of Iron expansion for Destiny, confirming the DLC will be made available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 20, 2016.
This latest expansion for the shared-world shooter has gamers following in the footsteps of Lord Saladin of Iron Banner fame, and offers up a new zone to explore, plus fresh enemies and mysteries to uncover.
Bungie is also promising that the expansion will wrap in an epic Raid, and is bringing back the fan favorite Gjallarhorn, an extremely powerful rocket launcher that is available in black for pre-order customers.

Destiny 2 set to launch on PS4 in 2017
Activision has confirmed that Bungie is working on a full-fledged sequel to Destiny, which will launch at some point in 2017. No details are available on the game at present, although there’s a chance we might hear something at E3 next week.
Rise of Iron will be the largest update for Destiny since the launch of The Taken King last September. Prior to that, Bungie has kept fans entertained with a series of time-based events such as the Sparrow Racing League and Festival of the Lost.
