Destiny: The Taken King soars to number one spot in U.K. charts

Destiny: The Taken King has fended off competition from Forza Motorsport 6 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 to become this week’s U.K. no.1

The expansion for Bungie’s shared-world alien shooter gives publisher Activision its first U.K. no.1 since Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare managed to top the charts back in February.

In terms of platforms, the PS4 ate the lion’s share of sales with 57 percent of all retail copies sold, with Xbox One taking 34 percent. Xbox 360 and PS3 made up the numbers with seven percent and two percent, respectively.

Despite The Taken King’s success, its sales were down 84 percent over Destiny’s week-one performance back in September 2014. It did, however, become PlayStation’s most downloaded day-one video game of all time.
