Have you been busy hoovering up engrams in Destiny: Rise of Iron lately via the Omnigul farm? If so, you’ll probably be somewhat dismayed to learn that Bungie has released a new Destiny update overnight that nerfs this useful farming method.
Destiny hotfix removes Omnigul farm, but fixes numerous issues
Yep, the new hotfix has put the kibosh on this handy Light Level-boosting method, with Omnigul now only coughing up rewards once every Strike. Before, it was possible to defeat her prematurely and then wipe, before repeating the process all over again—giving you copious amounts of engrams in the process.
It’s not all bad news though. Bungie has fixed up a number of issues with its shared-world shooter, chiefly polishing up the drop rates for the Abomination Heist and Winter’s Run Strikes, which were not giving up drops at the correct Light Level.
Elsewhere, SIVA offerings now drop more frequently, allowing you improved access to the Archon’s Forge public event. In addition, Bungie’s also fixed the issue where Guardians were not receiving the Gjallarhorn for the Beauty in Destruction quest, as well as Vanguard Rep Boosters not functioning in the SIVA Strike Playlist.
Destiny: Rise of Iron was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 20. The expansion marks the fourth major DLC release for the alien shooter, following on from The Dark Below, House of Wolves, and last year’s The Taken King.
Bungie also released Destiny: The Collection on the same day as Rise of Iron, which includes the base game alongside all four expansions. Beyond this year, publisher Activision has announced that Destiny 2 is currently in development and will launch at some point in 2017.
