Bungie has flicked the reset switch on Destiny’s game world for another week, ushering in a fresh set of challenges for Guardians to tackle, including a new Nightfall Strike. Have you got what it takes to face the onslaught of Taken this week? Read on to find out what you’re up against.
First up, the Nightfall takes the form of the Shield Brothers Strike, which dropped as part of The Taken King expansion last month. Modifiers this time around include Epic, Exposure, Brawler, Chaff, and Match Game. For those unaware, Chaff results in the player’s radar being disabled, while Match Game sees enemy shields are resistant to the unmatched elemental damage type.
Over on the Court of Oryx side of things, the Tier 3 challenge this week comes in the shape of Kagoor, who assaults players with a barrage of nasty Ogres. This guy packs a punch, so be sure to go equipped with some powerful weaponry, and preferably, a couple of mates to help you out.
Destiny: The Taken King was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 earlier this month. The expansion is the most substantial piece of content for Bungie’s shared-world shooter to date, featuring a host of new missions, weapons, gear, strikes plus a brand new Raid.
In addition, various gameplay tweaks have also been implemented, such as a third subclass for Guardians, while the levelling system has been revamped so that now earn experience to increase your level. The Light Level meanwhile is now entirely independent and acts as an average of your defense and attack prowess. Nolan North also replaces Peter Dinklage as the voice of Ghost.
The Taken King has been a great success for publisher Activision so far, topping the U.K. All Format Charts upon release and selling the majority of copies on the PS4. In addition, it’s also now PlayStation’s biggest downloaded day-one title of all time—not too shabby.
