Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for PS4 is locked at 30fps

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be locked at 30fps on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it launches next year, its Executive Game Director, Jean-François Dugas, has confirmed on Twitter.

Dugas didn’t go into any further details on the subject, although it has been suggested that the 30fps applies only to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the hotly anticipated action-RPG; the PC release is very likely to run at a higher frame rate as it’s being ported by another company, Nixxes.

Developed by Eidos Montreal, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is scheduled for release on February 23, 2016 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The game takes place in the year 2029 in Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, two years after the events of the Human Revolution. Players once again step into the shoes of Adam Jensen, now working for an international coalition to thwart terrorist attacks.

Despite being among the most anticipated game releases of 2016, Mankind Divided caused controversy earlier this year due to a pre-order initiative that employed a tiered reward system. This would have allowed customers to choose what content they received depending on what global tier the level of pre-orders had reached, although due to negative feedback from gamers the scheme was later scrapped. Instead, all pre-order content is now being made available to anyone who purchases the Day-One Edition of Mankind Divided.
