Dataminers have possibly unearthed the name of Diablo IV‘s first expansion by poking around in a technical alpha build of version 2.0 recently uploaded by Blizzard.
As reported by Russian YouTuber YbuBaKa, Diablo IV’s first paid-for expansion will be titled Lord of Hatred, and will focus on the demon Mephisto, who is Diablo and Bhaal’s older brother. The expansion will reportedly take place in Diablo II’s Kurast region, and features a new Spiritborn class.
In addition, Lord of Hatred will allegedly include a mercenary system featuring its own talent tree, with Raids also possibly being added to the equation. The datamine also uncovered reference to the ability to craft corrupt runestones, although this could be a Season 3 addition and not necessarily part of the expansion.
