Speaking during an interview GamesRadar, Diablo IV‘s Timothy Ismay (lead game producer) and Antonio Watson (associate game designer) revealed that the upcoming Season of Blood implements a major range of quality of life improvements, so much so that the game is overall more fun to play.
There’s a lot of stuff that was received very positively by the fans. A lot of the conversations that I’ve had have been that people are excited about the Season 2 content, but they’re also separately very excited about the quality of life changes. It feels like it’s enough of a motivating factor for people to come back and play.
Honestly, the quality of life changes – we’ve been able to play them pretty extensively internally – [Diablo 4] is a lot more fun to play. There are improvements that, each of them is small, but collectively, the game just feels a lot better.
Season of Blood introduces a wealth of new content to the dungeon crawler, including vampiric powers, the Blood Harvest event, and various gameplay improvements. Diablo IV was released in June 2023 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One, and you can read our full review here.
