The rumor that a new installment of Nippon Ichi’s tactical role-playing series, Disgaea is coming to PSP has been confirmed this week following the launch of the official Disgaea 2 website, which also confirms a Japanese release date of March 26, 2009.
Our Japanese isn’t so great, but PSP Kombo have translated the strange etchings on the website, which uncovers a number of new additions to series, including new chapters, characters, spells, weapons and a campaign dedicated entirely to Axel the Dark Hero.
The game will be optimized for the PSP with a number of enhancements, including an improved menu system, enhanced camera positioning and a more streamlined way to sort characters.
Currently there’s no word on whether Disgaea 2 will see the light of day in North America, but we’ll keep our ear to the ground and let you know if anything materializes.
