Bethesda’s slapped a western release date to Arkane’s upcoming Dishonored, confirming the game for release in the U.S. on October 9 and in Europe on October 12.
Due out on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 platforms, Dishonored is currently in development under the watchful eyes of co-creative directors Raphael Colantonio and Harvey Smith, and takes the form of an assassin/action hybrid.
The game itself takes place in the steampunk-inspired metropolis of Dunwall, with gamers controlling a chap named Corvo, the former bodyguard of the recently-assassinated Empress. Unfortunately, you are framed for a crime you did not commit, and turn to the life of an assassin bearing a disturbing mask.
Dishonored fuses weapons-based combat with supernatural abilities, with Corvo able to adopt a variety of tactics to dispatch his enemies, either by attacking them head-on or stalking them under the cover of darkness.
“We are pleased that Dishonored has captured people’s attention,” commented Bethesda’s Vlatko Andonov. “We are looking forward to sharing lots more information about the game leading up to its launch in October, and having a hands-on build of Dishonored in our booth at E3!”
