DJ Shadow, the man many consider a pioneer of instrumental hip hop, has lent his talents to Activision in the development of DJ Hero, reports Game Informer. Anyone familiar with his work is likely excited for the new music rhythm game being developed by Freestyle Games.
Even if you aren’t a fan of DJ Shadow, check out the interview for details on the game’s mechanics, including the unique peripheral that allows you to scratch virtual records like a real DJ. Conceptually, he says, DJ Hero will break certain doors in the music games genre. He also thinks the title will spark a resurgence of true hip hop.
We are certainly encouraged to hear about DJ Shadow’s involvement and look forward to getting our hands on the game and the turntables.
