Dragon Age and seventeen year veteran David Gaider announced his departure from BioWare today.
“I must sadly announce that after 17 years, today is my last day at BioWare.” He announced on Twitter today. “I’ll miss my team, and wish everyone the best.”
David didn’t leave any reason for his departure, but the studio and fans will surely miss him. David was the lead in creating the Dragon Age world for BioWare along with its many sub-plots found in other media such as novels.
It will be interesting to see how BioWare will adapt to his departure, or if the Dragon Age franchise will continue without him. Dragon Age: Inquisition released two years ago with much critical praise, winning many “Game of the Year” awards, but it left fans wanting more with its cliffhanger ending. BioWare released three story add-ons for Inquisition , which didn’t truly wrap up the story.
Gaider announced last year that he was leaving the Dragon Age team to work on another undisclosed project for BioWare. It hasn’t been revealed what that project is or if it led to his inevitable departure.
We at PSU would like to wish David Gaider the best in his future endeavors and thank him for the awesome memories.
