If you are interested in purchasing BioWare’s forthcoming Dragon Age: Origins, you’ll be pleased to learn you don’t have to buy the Collector’s Edition to get some great extras. While EA officially announced the Dragon Age: Origins Collector’s Edition special package today, it also revealed that any new copy of the game (original or Collector’s Edition) will come with a code to download “The Stone Prisoner” and a suit of Blood Dragon Armor.
The Stone Prisoner is a download pack that gives you access to Shale, the stone golem who can become one of your most powerful party members. The pack comes with a complete back-story, unique quests, new environments, items, and hours of additional gameplay. The Stone Prisoner comes with your new copy of Dragon Age: Origins, or you can purchase the pack separately for $15 USD.
New copies also come with Blood Dragon Armor, an exclusive set of themed armor that “give the player additional protection in combat.”
The premium package that comes with the Collector’s Edition includes a unique steel case, a cloth map of the world, a DVD documentary showing the making of the game, a digital version of Dragon Age: Origins soundtrack, game trailers, wallpapers, concept art video, strategy tips, and three exclusive downloadable items.
The Collector’s Edition is available for pre-order today at www.eastore.ea.com for $74.99 USD (console) and $64.99 (PC) USD in North America. The game is set to release in November on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The PS3 version does not have an official release date at this time.
