Square Enix has used the Dragon Age 35th Anniversary stream to announce Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, a full revamp of the classic NES RPG released back in 1988.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is targeting a simultaneous worldwide release for consoles, so presumably that means PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. No release date has been announced yet, however.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation was released in February 1988 for the NES in Japan and arrived in the US in 1992. The game was later revamped for the SNES for a Japanese-only released in 1993, and was later ported to iOS and Android.
The game’s producer, Masaaki Hayasaki, commented:
Our hope is that by recreating Dragon Quest III in this HD-2D style, everyone will have the change to experience the game through fresh eyes, from adults who played the original back when it was first released, to little kids picking it up for the first time.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is currently in development for consoles.
