Capcom Dragon's Dogma 2 Dragon's Dogma 2 Save Files News PS5

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Will Not Offer Multiple Save Files

A new preview for Dragon’s Dogma 2 conducted by IGN Japan has revealed that the game will not offer multiple save files.

This means you won’t be able to have multiple playthroughs on the go and you won’t be able to make backup save files; you’ll have to overwrite your existing file when saving. This may not come as too much of a surprise, since the original Dragon’s Dogma also employed the same save process.

“There is only one save slot in this game, and auto saves and manual saves share that slot.” The preview also mentions how Dragon’s Dogma 2 is “quite tough by modern open-world standards.”

Last week, Dragon’s Dogma 2 Director Hideaki Itsuno revealed his reasoning behind limiting the game’s fast travel system, suggesting that you simply need to make travelling. He argued that travelling isn’t boring, and that it’s only an issue “because your game is boring.”

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on March 22, 2024.
