DreamWorks Shrek 2 Remastered Brings The PS2-Era Adventure To PS5 On November 10

DreamWorks Shred 2 Remastered is launching for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S ON November 10, 2026, Aspyr has announced.

Originally released for the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox back in 2004, Shred 2 will feature a wealth of enhancements for its modern overhaul, including 4K resolution textures and cutscenes, enhanced user interface, and improved textures. Beyond that, a Photo Mode has been added alongside an unlockable Cheat Mode, while the game supports up to four players in couch and online co-operative play, or you can simply go it alone.

The game’s story follows Shrek and Fiona on a journey to the Kingdom of Far Far Away to visit Fiona’s parents, who aren’t too happy that their daughter is married to the big green ogre. There’s 11 stages in total, with players controlling a team of four characters, switching between them at any point. Everyone has unique abilities that can be used in combat or exploration, such as Fiona’s time-slowing mechanic or Donkey’s ability to destroy objects in his path.

Each chapter features its own set of goals to accomplish, such as leading three blind mice to a witch’s house, gathering up bits of Humpty Dumpty, battling Puss in Boots, and ridding the town of the Pied Piper’s rat infestation. While largely based on the Shred 2 film, the game covers events that are not shown in the movie using storybook-style text and illustrations.
