Black Salt Games has announced on the PlayStation Blog that The Pale Reach, the first official expansion for Dredge, is launching on November 16, 2023.
Dredge: The Pale Reach takes place in a chilly icy biome that take players on a new adventure through icy canyons, where you’ll retrace the steps of a long-forgotten expedition and uncover the destiny of its adventurers. To do so, you’ll need to upgrade your ship with specialised gear allowing it to smash through the unforgiving ice you’ll encounter on your journey.
All is not as it seems though, as you’ll uncover a malevolent undercurrent that grips this frozen frontier, corrupts and twists nature for its own sinister designs. Along the way, you’ll also encounter 11 new fish and crab species, as well as a brand new Fish Type.
Doing an icy biome was something we had considered when we were first designing Dredge, but the other biomes felt better for the story we wanted to tell and the time we had to make the game. After launch, it became the most requested new biome from players, with the community wondering what it could be like and even creating fan art inspired by it. We’re delighted to be bringing this idea to life for players.
