Dying Light 2 developer Techland has revealed it has parted ways with narrative designer Chris Avellone, after allegations of sexual harassment against the writer surfaced earlier this week.
Chris Avellone No Longer With Dying Light 2 Dev
Avellone had been serving at Techland under contract, and had previously served on a number of major titles including Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
However, in a statement issued yesterday, Techland has confirmed he’s no longer involved with Dying Light 2.
We treat matters of sexual harassment and disrespect with utmost care, and have no tolerance for such behaviours – it applies to both our employees as well as external consultants, Chris among them. This is why, together with Chris Avellane, we’ve decided to end our cooperation.
Elsewhere, Paradox Interactive confirmed that Avellone’s ‘brief’ work on Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 would not be featured in the final product.
Dying Light 2 is currently slated for release at some point this year for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series and Xbox One.
