E3 2015 is over for another year, and what a show it’s been. As we pack our bags and head back home we’re left with a tough decision: which games deserve our coveted awards this year?
Winner: Guitar Hero Live
Okay, so E3 isn’t exactly awash with rhythm-based games this year, but what we have seen has impressed; none more so than FreeStyleGames’ Guitar Hero Live.
The series has essentially evolved and matured into a more authentic rhythm game that captures the feeling of being on stage rocking out. The real-life crowd scenes certainly help create that atmosphere but the guitar controller also feels more authentic and intuitive to use with its new button layout.
The enhancements continue with numerous new features and a massive song selection which is bigger than previous games and allows you to branch out into genres that haven’t been available before. Guitar Hero Live doesn’t just feel like a reboot of its predecessor or a tired sequel, it feels like a real evolution of the series. Guitar Hero live rocked our socks off, and fans of the rhythm genre should get a real thrill from the feeling they get from mastering some great tunes.
Honourable Mention: Persona 4: Dancing All Night
