EA Originals announced, starts with Swedish game Fe

EA have announced EA Originals, a program designed to support smaller studios and their games, starting with Swedish game Fe.

The program is a direct result of the success EA had with its collaboration with Coldwood Studios last year on the game Unravel.

This initiative helps fund smaller developers
As well as assisting with marketing and developing , plus added security for the risks of a new IP.

The first game to benefit from this will be Zoink Games’ Fe, a small, personal game about nature.

Everything in Fe’s world is connected and stars a baby cub/flying cat beast, who says little, but there is a language to the game that takes a basis in music. This music can be used to connect with the forest and unlock new areas. Each animal has its own unique song, but there are enemies known as the silent ones, who can corrupt the music.

Fe will have plenty of puzzles and promises not to hold your hand. Intriguingly, there are horror themes hinted at in the presentation.

We should see more on Fe and further EA Originals in the coming months.
