Respawn Entertainment has been hit with more layoffs as another of its incubation projects have been cancelled by Electronic Arts.
The job losses have affected the incubation, Apex Lends, and Star Wars Jedi development teams, according to a report on IGN. The total number of layoffs are believed to be around 100, and includes developers, publishing, and QA workers on Apex Legends, with a smaller number of people impacted on the incubation and Jedi outfits.

Speaking in a statement overnight, EA commented:
These decisions aren’t easy, and we are deeply grateful to every teammate affected — their creativity and contributions have helped build Respawn into what it is today. We’re offering meaningful support to those impacted, including exploring new opportunities within EA.
In wake of the layoffs, Resapwn will continue to work on Apex Legends alongside the next iteration of the battle royale title, as well as the next chapter in the Star Wars Jedi franchise and support on Bit Reactor’s Star Wars Zero Company. Last month, it was reported that Respawn had cancelled an unannounced multiplayer game, which had been in production for about a year, and prior to that had shelved another FPS set in the Star Wars universe.
