eBay Customer Paid Almost $900 For PS5, Received Concrete Block Instead

Fox13 has reported that a man based in Orem, Utah spent nearly $900 on eBay to obtain a PS5, only to receive a block of concrete when his order arrived.

The Orem Police Department has said that they expect the 38-year-old victim to receive his money back due to eBay’s buyer protections. eBay had previously issued a warning about PS5 scams, with some people charging and arm and a leg for the console, only for customers to receive a photo of the system instead.

PS5 has become increasingly more difficult to get hold of since its launch in the US and UK on November 12 and November 19, respectively, so naturally this has resulted in scalpers and scammers taking full advantage of the situation.

Just recently, it was reported that criminal gangs were targeting fast-moving lorries to steal their supply of PS5s using a tactic known as the rollover.
