Elden Ring Movie Set Images Reveal Possible Inclusion Of Pre-Game Lore

Images of the set of the Elden Ring movie have been doing the rounds online today, revealing teasers for a number of locations from the critically acclaimed fantasy-RPG such as a Leyndell Streets sign and Stormveil props box.

The set photos were shared by Shortlist and also depict a number of cast members on set, including what appears to be Marika, which is Elden Ring’s Numen god. Both of the character’s braids appear, which suggests the inclusion of scenes set before The Shattering, which is the catalyst for the game’s events. The polytheistic faction known as The Hornsenet also seem to feature in the foreground of the image, again implying we’re getting a lot of pre-game lore in the film.

You can see the photos for yourself here.

Meanwhile, the photos also reveal a soldier wearing a helmet that appears to match the armour worn by the Leyndell Knights in Elden RIng. For those out of the loop, Leyndell is known as the Royal City, and the setting for the Night of the Black Knives, which set in motion the events of The Shattering. We’re also shown an image some gallows, the beam of which apparently matches the opening cutscene that depicts the hanging of Loathsome Dung Eater.

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced earlier this week that the Elden Ring movie is going to appear in cinemas on March 3, 2028. Elden Ring was developed by FromSoftware and masterminded by Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki and Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin, and launched in February 2022 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
