Mums, dads and potential PS4 adopters, it’s looking like the Christmas rush may be taking its toll on PS4 stock allowances once again as Sony’s flagship console is facing a shortage for the second year running.
Speaking with Reuters, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House relayed the slight concern by saying, ‘’if I look at Europe I think it is potentially, for the second year running, going to be quite inventory challenged’’ – he then went on to allay fears of the all-out warfare that many prospective buyers faced when trying to pick up a PS4 just before last year’s Christmas.
"I’m not going to say you won’t be able to find a PlayStation 4; I think it’s going to be kind of hand to mouth in terms of that market’’, he added.
The potential shortage will hopefully not mirror the havoc induced by PS4’s release back in November of last year, with its maiden Christmas becoming synonymous with stock shortages and hiked-up prices on bidding websites like eBay.
Luckily for American folk, there should be a plentiful supply of the system – Sony seems to have that avenue covered, at least.
During its first year on the market, PS4 has sold an eye-watering 13 million units as of September, making it the fastest-selling Sony console ever.
