Ex-Capcom Dev Hideaki Itsuno Is Now Heading Up LightSpeed Japan Studio

Tencent has announced that Hideaki Itsuno, who previously worked at Capcom and directed the likes of Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon’s Dogma 2, is now heading up LightSpeed Japan Studio.

The studio is going to be focussing its efforts on AAA action titles, something which Itsuno-san obviously has a lot of experience with, and is looking to build a “global” team. Itsuno announced his departure from Capcom in August, having been with the Resident Evil creator for over 30 years.

Itsuno has worked on a number of classic Capcom IPs during hits 30-year stint at the Osaka-based developer, including Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Devil May Cry 2 (where he served as a replacement director after the project ran into difficulties), Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening, Devil May Cry 4, and the original Dragon’s Dogma.
