Ex-Capcom Legend Hideaki Itsuno Would Like To Make A New Capcom vs SNK Title

Dragon’s Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno has revealed that he would love to have another stab at the Capcom vs SNK franchise down the line, despite the fact he left Capcom last year after 30 years with the Resident Evil creator.

Itsuno-san, who also directed the original Dragon’s Dogma, Devil May Cry 2, Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Revenge, Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 5, was the designer of the first Capcom vs SNK title. Now, speaking with VGC, Itsuno, who is with Lightspeed Japan Studio, said that he’d like to tackle the crossover series once again— even though he’s at neither Capcom nor SNK.

As reported back in March 2025, Lightspeed Japan Studio is working on a triple-A action title as its debut project, which will feature a distinct Japanese style.

Itsuno joined Capcom in 1994 and cut his teeth on projects including Street Fighter Alpha, Star Gladiator, and Rival Schools: United by Fate.
