Randel Reiss, a former studio technical director at Lost Boy Interactive, has listed the as-yet unannounced Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands 2 on his LinkedIn profile.
For those unaware, Lost Boys Interactive was a support studio for Gearbox that worked on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and fellow Take-Two offerings such as WWE 2K23.
As mentioned, Borderland 4 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands 2 have not been announced by Gearbox yet, although given the success of the Borderlands franchise as a whole, we wouldn’t be surprised if another game was in production. Borderlands 3 launched four years ago in September 2019, so it’s been a while since we saw a new entry in the franchise.
Meanwhile, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands “shattered” Gearbox’s internal expectations, with CEO Randy Pitchford revealing last year that it has new “experiences” in the series in the pipeline following the game’s success.
It’s worth noting however that Gearbox has been hit by layoffs amidst Embracer Group’s ongoing restructuring program, which may have affected any in-development projects. Furthermore, it has been reported that Embracer is considering selling Gearbox altogether, although nothing has been announced regarding a potential sale.
